HouseChurch

A Family on Mission

We affirm HouseChurch as the most basic expression of the church. Our ecclesiology is simple: when believers work together in pursuing Jesus as Lord in a spiritual family to own the mission of God, they are the church. Worship, community, and mission are our ecclesial minimum.

Even in the name "HouseChurch" we are trying to deliberately remind ourselves that the Church doesn't exist within the four walls of a building. The Church is the people of God scattered across our city, owning the mission of Jesus by making disciples that make disciples where they live, work, study, and play.

A HouseChurch is an extended spiritual family led by ordinary people, doing daily life around Jesus, and owning His mission in a specific network of relationships. They emerge from reaching a particular neighborhood or network of relationships. In their design, HouseChurches are meant to grow “from the harvest to the church” through disciple-making.

If you live in the same neighborhood or have a passion for the same mission as a HouseChurch, we would encourage you to connect with one of our HouseChurch leaders. If you do not live in that neighborhood, aren’t clear on where God is calling you, or just aren’t ready to make the jump yet, we would love to connect you with others in your area where you will be on the journey together.

If you are interested in starting a HouseChurch, or initiating a new missional opportunity, or helping to start something where you live we’d love to connect with you and hear more about it!
